Default Where are the Painters?

Are there any painters in McDonald County? Just wondering. I like painting and like discussing painting with other artists. Also, doesn't Pineville usually have an Art Walk? When is that and who is the contact on that?

Default Where are the painters?

I am a painter & would love to get a group started here in the county again. As to ArtWalk, after 4 years, the sponsor, Sugar Creeks Betterment, ran out of steam. I have a lot of info on contacts, vendors, etc. if anyone is interested in doing the heavy lifting.

Default Art Walk

Maybe Back to Basics could help resurrect the Art Walk. It was such a lovely event and a wonderful outlet for area artists!

Anyone interested in serving on an Art Walk Committee, please post here and/or contact Robin 417 845 0170.

I can serve in an advisory position, but don't have the energy to do a lot of running around that is required.

Cool PAINTERS

Linda Johnson (Pineville #?) was involved in the fall (October ?) art walks at one time, I believe.

There is an artist on EE between Pineville & Lanagan that has been at the show before. She has a large sign in the yard but I don't recall the name.

Maureen Leonard in Pineville would also probably know who to contact.

Sorry, I didn't see the other replies to the question. Obviously, I'm out of date.

Linda Johnson did it the first year with the help of the Sugar Creeks Betterment Association. The next three years the Betterment folk did it, but they got all worn out.

Susanna Jones is the artist at Sycamore Gallery between Lanagan & Pineville.

Default I know that artist

on EE,,her name is Susanna Jones...very nice lady I visit often to discuss my paintings. She is a part-time watercolor instructor in Arkansas..planning on visiting her tomorrow..will ask her about it...
I was just curious if the Art Walk was still running...had heard about it in the past. Sorry to say I can't run the heavy lifting on getting it together.

Default Artist

This is kind of a late reply. Haven't visited for a while. If you are still looking for artists, check with Lis MCool. She is one of the best artists in the county. She doesn't have internet access, but you can call her at 417-845-7189. She loves art & loves to talk about it. Great lady. Give her a call.

Default mccool-I've met her

Thanks for the update, and as you can see, it's been a while since I've been here, too. I have met her and she's an oil painter. I've taken pics of her property which I will most certainly paint...so many venues, so little time to paint. Plus, I make rag dolls, read, sew, all between 8 p.m. - 12 midnight, after the girls go to bed...well, that's not accurate..I do just one of those things at a time, like I can't pick up a paint-brush or break out my sewing maching while I'm in the middle of a book. And vice versa all around..well, that was more than you wanted...
Anyway, I've met Ms. McCool and she has a very unique house on the inside, very multi-texture decor and paintings covering every inch of the house.. need to get back and visit her. She's probably wondering whatever became of that watercolorist she stumbled upon doing a sketch along the sidewalk while she was on her way to the post office...haha.
